What can we do around Belle Mare?

Can we leave luggage at the hotel before check-in or after check-out?
Yes! We provide a luggage service if you arrive early or leave late.
Do you offer yoga classes or wellness activities?
Yes, every day there’s a different activity: beach yoga, meditation sessions, or Tai Chi outdoors.
Ask at reception or the spa for the day’s programme.
Can I smoke at the hotel?
Not in the rooms or indoor areas, in line with Mauritian law and our commitment to everyone’s wellbeing.
Designated outdoor smoking areas are available.
What electrical outlets do you have at the hotel?
We use type C and G plugs (as in Europe and the UK).
Need an adaptor? Just ask at reception, our team will be happy to help.
Do you run a shuttle to Île aux Cerfs?
Yes, a boat shuttle is available from nearby Tropical Attitude (10 min from Sunrise), bookable at least 24h in advance, subject to weather and availability.
Price: approx. MUR 1,200 per person, including transfer from Sunrise to Tropical Attitude and the crossing.
What’s the weather like on the east coast in summer?
From November to April it’s summer in Mauritius: hot, sunny and with a few tropical showers (mainly in January–February).
Temperatures average 28–32°C - perfect for beach days!
Pack light clothing, a hat, and maybe a rain jacket… we can lend you one if needed.
Are wines included in the All-in All-out package?
Yes, a selection of drinks is included: wines, beer, tea, coffee, soft drinks and locally bottled spirits.
Our favourite? Takamaka, a 100% Mauritian wine made from lychees, available in rosé and white, and included in the package.
Do we have direct access to the beach?
The hotel faces Belle Mare beach, just across the coastal road, one minute on foot. One of Mauritius’s most beautiful beaches, with kilometres of fine sand and a stunning turquoise lagoon.
Is it windy in summer or winter?
In winter (June to September) the east coast breeze is… invigorating.
In summer, the air is calmer, warm and gentle.
Do you host weddings at the hotel? On the beach?
Yes and we love it! We host barefoot ceremonies on the beach, in a natural and intimate setting, for small groups of up to 25 guests.
Are the pools heated?
Yes, the pool at The Social House is heated, so you can enjoy it even when the sun hides or the air turns (rarely) cooler.
Is there parking at the hotel?
Yes, we offer free parking - perfect if you’re renting a car to explore the island!
Do you offer beach service?
Yes! Our team comes by the beach every day to bring you what you need between swims. Service runs from 10:30am to 12:00 and from 1:00pm to 3:00pm.
Are the Spa products natural?

What are the Spa opening hours? Can I see the menu?

There’s no TV in the room - can we request one during our stay?
This is part of our choice to encourage digital detox. We suggest you give it a try, even just for a few days! But if you’d like a TV, we can provide one subject to availability.
Are all restaurants included in the Half-Board, Full-Board or All-Inclusive plans?
Yes, whichever plan you choose! With our Dine Around concept, you can enjoy a variety of dining experiences at The Market, Kot Nou and The Social House - three restaurants, three ambiences, all included. Check out our restaurants here
Does the hotel have a gym?
Yes! We call it our Gym Box! Open 7am to 8pm, it has everything you need for your workout: treadmill, weights, elliptical bike…
Not a fan of the gym? Try our HIIT sessions with coach Samuel Desjardins: his videos are accessible by QR code so you can stay active from your room, your garden or even the beach.
Do you offer catamaran excursions?
Yes! Weather permitting, trips run from 9:30am to 4pm, including:
A refreshing stop at the Grande Rivière Sud-Est waterfall
Relaxing on the Deux Frères sandbank
Snorkelling in turquoise waters
A barbecue on board (drinks included)

Do you propose vegan options?
Yes! And here, they’re more than just options! In fact, we received VeganWelcome certification in 2022, recognising hotels that are particularly vegan-friendly.
At Sunrise, like in all Attitude hotels, around 30% of our dishes are vegetarian or vegan, both à la carte and on buffets. You’ll spot them easily thanks to dedicated symbols. Find out why we give so much space to plant-based cuisine here

Are there restaurants or street-food stalls within walking distance?
Yes, you’ll find a few options just steps from the hotel. And for guests who aren’t on All Inclusive, all of our hotel restaurants are open to you.
Can we snorkel from the beach?
Yes! Just across the coastal road, Belle Mare beach is a beautiful spot to snorkel. Our tip: join our glass-bottom boat trip to go further out and explore the marine life. And don’t forget to pack water shoes.
