Mauritius in July

There are plenty of good reasons to spend your next July holiday in Mauritius. Sun, lagoons, mountains and palm trees – a slow, peaceful getaway awaits you.

On the spot

Whether you're a weekend warrior or a seasoned runner, take advantage of the July sporting events in Mauritius. On Sunday 7 July 2024, the KFC Mauritius Marathon takes place in Saint-Félix. Several races of different levels are organised (5km, 10km, 21km or 42km), so everyone can challenge themselves.

Trail runners will not be left out in July. On Sunday 28 July 2024, the Raidlight Ultra-Trail will take place in Blue Bay in the south of the island. There are several possible routes (10km, 25km and 65km for the more adventurous). On your marks, get set, run!

On a more artistic note, the Imaaya Art Gallery in Vacoas-Phoenix organises art exhibitions throughout the year. Come and discover unique paintings by local artists (and if you fall for one of them, you can buy it and take it home with you). A painting made in Mauritius, now that's a travel souvenir!

  • zzz

In July, as in the rest of the year, there's no shortage of fruit and vegetables on the island:

Butternut squash
Watercress (a leafy vegetable with a slightly peppery, pungent taste)
Avocados
Chinese guavas
Passionfruit, bananas, giraumon (squash) or Victoria pineapple (available all year round)
