10 years of Zilwa!
For the past 10 years, Zilwa has been inspired by the island’s vibrant and colourful culture.
For 10 years, we’ve been waking up excited to show you Mauritius and help you meet the locals
For the past 10 years, you have been coming to the island in search of a picture-postcard holiday, only to leave realising there is so much more to Mauritius that you first thought.
We’ve pulled out all the stops to celebrate Zilwa Attitude and memories that have been made and shared here.
Zilwa gets a makeover
We handed over the room keys to Mauritian artist Gaël Froget, Ennsel, and designer Magalie Avignon, founder of the French brand, Enamoura .
The mission: a fresh look!
-
Enamoura x Zilwa Attitude
Magalie Avignon shares our ethical and committed vision in Provence, France! She has hung a series of bright, decorative plates on our walls which have been made by talented Mauritian potters.
-
Froget & Ennsel x Zilwa Attitude
Mauritian artist Gaël Froget is full of passion and energy and has used his style to design the cushions and light fittings in the bedrooms. Ennsel put Gaël’s designs into action, using fabrics made in Mauritius and printing the cushions with eco-friendly ink!
-
New Thai restaurant
Get ready to slurp some yummy pad Thai! We are excited to add a new Thai restaurant at Zilwa Attitude, so come and tuck into salty, sweet, spicy and sour flavours at Manao (opening soon).
Crafts in the spotlight
Over the last 10 years, we’ve had the pleasure of supporting our local economy and Mauritian makers.
To make sure the party is complete, we’ve teamed up with two Mauritian brands and asked them to create a capsule collection to celebrate.
You’ll find these collections in our Otentik Bazar stores throughout November 2023. The crafts are 100% local, so come and pick up some souvenirs and show your support, too!
What's available?
The Kreol Republik has come up with a collection of bob hats that are as fun as they are virtuous. Eco-recycled, they also carry the Made in Moris label.
To bring a little bit of the Indian Ocean back with you, Hélène de Senneville has created an exclusive collection of magnets and postcards for your fridge.
