Get to know the lagoon with Ekol’O
Learn, explore and help protect the marine life of northern Mauritius, on land at the Marine Discovery Centre
and out at sea aboard Ekol'O, the island's first floating education centre.
OUR MISSION
Since 2010, the Marine Discovery Centre at Lagoon Attitude has been a hub for marine research, conservation and education in Anse La Raie. Our team of marine biologists and certified eco-guides studies the lagoon every day and shares what they learn with anyone curious enough to ask.
Ekol'O takes that mission out to sea. This converted catamaran is a floating classroom where you learn alongside our team, and sometimes help collect real scientific data.

OUR WORKSHOPS
Each activity combines a learning session with hands-on discovery, and some include a trip out to sea aboard Ekol'O. Duration and formats may vary depending on the group.

Coral & fish
How does a coral grow? Why does it bleach? Head out on our snorkelling trail to find the answers.

Sea turtles
Learn to identify the species that live around the island, and help us build our turtle photo-ID database.

Plankton
Collect plankton from the lagoon and observe it under the microscope.
The ocean is on your doorstep, so come and say hello.
As a guest, you can visit the Marine Discovery Centre and join an Ekol'O session during your stay.
