Green Attitude : our eco-commitment
Mauritius known for its blue sky and lagoon, its green sugar cane fields and mountains… and its many genuine treasures which Attitude, through its Green Attitude program has chosen to protect.
Environmental awareness is at the heart of Attitude’s branding strategy. Through its program Green Attitude, our brand positions itself as a key local actor of sustainable development.
The success of Green Attitude relies on each Family Member who, within our hotels, daily contributes to the protection and safeguard of our environment.
Attitude wishes to share its green commitment with its guests, partners and co-citizens.
Within our hotels
Simple and straightforward actions have already been taken, Ambassadors of the environment of each one of our hotels are out into the field, greatly encouraging the following activities:
- Generating awareness for environment
- Sorting out and recycling paper and plastic
- Evaluating and controlling water and energy consumption
- Setting up a composting program
- Stocking and using rainwater
Our CSR program
In the context of its CSR program (Corporate Social Responsibility – in accordance with the Local Corporate Law) Attitude has also chosen to bring its contribution to environmental projects in the northern regions of the island.
- Jointly with the ONG Mission Verte, in July 2010 a container has been installed in the locality, Pavillon, next to Cap Malheureux village, thus enabling the sorting out of paper and plastic.
- Jointly with the ONG Reef Conservation
- From June to October 2010, children, teenagers and adults of the northern region of the island have been able to attend a program on awareness to environment.
- In November 2010, Attitude inaugurated Nauticaz, its educational and interactive centre totally dedicated to the richness of the local marine flora and fauna. Located in the new building of Hôtel Club Le Marina, Nauticaz is open to our guests, the inhabitants and schools of the region as well as to our Family Members. The vocation of Nauticaz consists not only in revealing the treasures of our lagoon but first of all to generate awareness among young people and grown-ups regarding the urge to protect these treasures.
